by UnDisfellowshipped inthe anointed do not have more bible understanding than the great crowd!.

the other sheep today perform the same preaching work as the remnant, under the same trying conditions, and manifest the same faithfulness and integrity.

I think there was also a more recent quote that put it in more succinct terms but I have been unable to locate it in WTL 2008. I will keep searching...any others found it? I believe it may have been 2006ish?

WOW!!! "Do not go beyond the things written" (1 Cor 4:6)
Okay, then quit the generation flip-flop because Jesus says 'its not for you to know times or dates" (Acts 1:7). Jesus did not say there would not be a restoration, just that it was not proper to speculate on the matter. He said it not matter-of-factly, but with pointednes that it is quite frankly none of anyone's business - only God's.
The reason they are subject to questioning, challenges, etc is because they "go beyond the things written" !!!! The FDS is marevelous at this type of coying rudeness.

How to deal with "Whoe other than JW are preching today?"
by Simon Morley inmy bil (active dub) has begun to ask me why we are not "active" anymore.
after a few careful (non-dfing) comments and observations he asks "well who other than jw's are preaching the good news in fullfillment of matt 24:14?
i responded with the comment that billions of christ's followers worldwide, down through history for over 19 centuries have been selfless in preaching globally.

Thank you all!! I have some great points for my BIL. I have been able to mentally tie a number of points made together that did two things:
1) Supplied me with additional pointers to cover with him next Thursday when I am having supper with him
2) Reinforced my decision that leaving the KH behind in 01/2010 was the right thing to do!!
With gratefulness, indebtedness and appreciation,
Simon Morley.

New Apostate here
by skitt ini did not know where to start, but figured the personal experience section was a good place to begin.
won't bore you with all the particulars today....but i was raised in "it" (wont call it the truth, cause it ain't) from about 1968. baptized in 1985, faded about 2001.....woke up from the insanity after reading ray franz forbidden book a few years ago(crisis).
only sorry i did not read it earlier....but there was that fear factor instilled in me.

I responded with the comment that billions of Christ's followers worldwide, down through history for over 19 centuries have been selfless in preaching globally. Many millions of missionaries devote their lives to the preaching work, and hundreds of millions informally discuss the good news or just simply live it and become a force for good. The efforts of these are marginalized when it is said that only Jehovah's Witnesses participate in the work Jesus described.
Any others had sucess with a "respectful" but thought-provoking response?

Let me set the context: I was one of a few who would speak up at the semi annual CO visit/Elders Meeting. This particular CO was one of those parrots who never strayed from his set routine, same stupid presentations, over and over, an over, same stupid illustrations, same comments. I got really bothered by his ad hminem attacks on weaker publishers and elders....so I frenquently challenged him on "issues" at the "table" during the meeting with the elders. Clearly annoyed he replied:
"You are too smart for your own good, you have more issues than at the magazine counter"
I thought that it would be impossible to mentally joust with him any further when he was unarmed - so I lost it and started laughing - causing a meltdown at the table and his hurried closing the meeting, followed by his chastisement the next day which led to him saying:
"The elders meeting is no place to bring up issues, you should have provided them to me in writing".
I sure don't miss this.....

I thought JW's were not allowed to have 'friends" but only "aquaintances"
